Description

A bike tour starting from Milan, from the Martesana canal, will lead you along a bike path to Lecco (Como lake), passing from a beautiful natural scenery to a context with a glorious past, testified by period buildings and ancient villas. Along the way, the Crespi Workers’ Village is worth a visit: built at the end of the 19th century, has been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1995 as an “extraordinary example of the phenomenon of the worker’s village, the most complete and best preserved of south Europe”.

The route crosses a series of villages, where there are still ancient villas and towers, farmsteads, castles and signs that testify the presence and work of Leonardo Da Vinci. Day 3: Trezzo d’Adda – Lecco     36 Km
In Trezzo, in addition to its beautiful old town, you can admire the ancient Visconti Castle, whose remains are the walls and the tower from which you can enjoy an unexpected view of the Adda river and the Bergamo Pre-Alps. The cycle path to Lecco goes down on the Adda river and skirts the majestic Taccani hydroelectric power station, dating back to the beginning of the last century. The itinerary continues northwards, meeting the other historical hydroelectric plants (the first to supply electricity to the city of Milan), the rapids of the Adda river, the small dams, and arrives in Imbersago at Leonardo’s Ecomuseum, where you can admire one of the works of the genius: the ferry, which is still working. Along the way to Lecco, you will find several places where to have a pleasant break: in Brivio or near the two lakes. Overnight stay in Lecco.
